We were looking to buy a home, and we were those clients most Realtors would probably run from because it took so long for us to finally make the purchase. But, Mary's team stuck right with us to a very sweet end! We were living in Newark , in the Bay Area, when Mark got laid off in September 2001. After 10 months of job hunting in an extremely tough tech market, Mark was finally offered a job in Modesto on July 15, 2002. We had a local Newark Realtor for the selling end and immediately placed our home on the market there, but we were now faced with finding a Realtor in Modesto . We had started looking for a home to buy on www.realtor.com back in February/March in preparation for the possibility of moving. We kept coming across these listings with very detailed descriptions that made you feel like you were walking right through the house, and we noticed no other Realtors ever went to this great detail. The Realtor on these listings was always Mary Prieto. Because of the obvious effort on these detailed listings, we thought, "Wow, this Realtor really cares about her work. When the time comes, we want her to help us find a new home." So when Mark got the job in July, he met with Mary and set up an appointment to look at houses. We wanted to be in a position to be able to make an offer right away on a new home as soon as an offer came in on our home in Newark . Weeks passed, and the weeks turned into months, two offers came in in Newark but both backed out, and we became very discouraged when it looked like our home in Newark just wasn't going to sell. That would mean a continued 180-mile daily commute for Mark, and all the houses we looked at in Modesto were selling from under our feet before we could make an offer. Yet during all that time, Mary and Lydia were tireless in showing us the homes we were interested in. Even though it took over 4 months before we could make an offer here in Modesto, Mary's team paid us so much attention and gave such excellent service that they made us feel like we were fresh new clients. They even made us feel like we were their only clients. They always responded to our phone calls and emails the same day. They were prompt, clear and complete in answering all our questions. They were beyond patient with our situation in Newark . Mary's team took such good care of us, they made us feel like we were members of their own family. Mary addressed all our concerns for community environment and location in school districts. Lydia was extremely thorough, courteous and gracious in showing us countless homes, even as we had to take our three rambunctious children under the age of 4 along with us. We were also brand new buyers, so it took us a long time to narrow our focus, but Mary and Lydia were very patient with us through it all. Rosa and Jackie fielded a zillion phone calls and scheduled many appointments for us, but they were always cheerful and efficient and never made us feel like we were imposing. When a solid offer finally came through in Newark, Mary's team's expertise and experience shone through when they were able to show and sell us a home that is perfect for our family in size, floorplan, amenities, price, and especially location. Silvia was a dream in the escrow phase and made the whole escrow process totally painless, even though we had many complications because of the sale in Newark . I lost count of how many kinks and bumps in the road the Newark end created for us on the Modesto end, but Sylvia sailed right through it all and handled every transaction with ease and grace, even with all the deadline pressures. Now we are in a beautiful dream home in a very friendly, desirable area. If you had told us a year ago where we would be now, we never would have believed you.
